SOUTH WEST ENGLAND

TOUR GUIDE

Your holiday, your choice.

Your holiday, your choice. I would be privileged to help you plan an itinerary within your own parameters.

If you are staying on the moor or in close proximity to the moor, consider these options.

Make the most of your time with a Full Day tour. We will move at a relaxed pace but you have the reassurance of my experience if weather conditions threaten our plans..

These Long Stay Tours are, quite simply, my favourite locations in the South West. These are the tours that I would give to my best friends!

WHO AM I ?

RUSSELL CHAPMAN

PROFESSIONAL TOUR GUIDE

BLUE BADGE QUALIFIED

bluebadgeguidelogo_edited_edited.png

I have lived on Dartmoor for almost 30 years with my wife bringing up our children.

As I write this, I can see from my window a Bronze Age burial chamber (a cist) sheep, ponies and a badger sett. Between April and July I can hear the cuckoo calling.

Prior to guiding, I was a teacher and had the privilege of leading large groups abroad.  Now I guide small groups and individuals, as well as walking holidays and groups coming out of London to see the highlights of South West England.

SO, WHY CHOOSE ME?

As a Blue Badge guide and qualified Walking Leader, you will be both secure and informed. The Blue Badge qualification is an internationally recognised qualification and is the highest tour guiding accreditation in the UK.  My areas of expertise are the counties of Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Somerset, but it is Devon, Dartmoor and Cornwall that are my home patches.

At a local level I am a member of The Dartmoor Society and Princetown History Club.

As a member of the Institute of Tourist Guiding as well as the British Guild of Tourist Guides I proudly uphold the professional standards of these organisations and I have full public liability insurance.
